End-of-Season Letter

Buoy meets gull.

Dear Summertimers,

Now comes the best part of the busy, vibrant summer season — the winding down when there is at last time to award the many thanks that are due.

First of all, thank you to all of you who are reading this newspaper and to the many other people who seek out, read and appreciate Summertime in the Belgrades.

Thank you to our advertisers for making Summertime in the Belgrades a reality, to our columnists, who are the core of our editorial content, to our contributors who submit a mix of interesting features, and to all the people throughout central Maine who send us their events, activities and comments.

We are all privileged to be in a region where the outdoors, the history, the feeling of community and an awareness of responsible conservation connect us. A special thanks to the associations, organizations, towns and individuals that are stewards of these lifestyle qualities.

The summer of 2026 was a reminder of the wealth of area activities and of the celebrations of the season. It also was a reminder that summer itself is a celebration.

May you have a great autumn, winter and spring…then summer again.
