Created by the Australian arts collaborative Skunk Control, Light Sentinels is a temporary art installation in Castonguay Square in downtown Waterville. The display comprises ten, internally illuminated, stained-glass flowers, which slowly open and close. These flowers sit on top of white poles of varying heights (16 20 feet) that are arranged in a semicircle near the Main Street end of the square. The installation opened Friday, July 12 and will remain in place through November. For a closeup of one of the “Sentinels,” see the MIFF Wrapup article.
