Nothing But Chicks!

Spring is in the air! As of this writing, we have one pair of chicks on Great Pond and two pairs of chicks and one “Lone Ranger” on Long! At this point in the season, we are discovering new chicks every day. It doesn’t get more exciting than this!!

Let’s take a tour of our Great and Long Pond Chicks of 2025!

Two adult loons, one of whom has a minnow in his/her beak, and two loon chicks. — Both of these chicks are also not quite 24 hrs. old yet are learning how to feed. Of course, this minnow is way too large for this little beak! Both parents are obviously still learning the ropes!

Spring and summer are certainly exciting times here in the Belgrades!
